Colleagues from Kolex exhibited two CNC machines for processing wood panel materials with Automatic Tool Changer (ATC). Power of Spindle motors were 3 kW and 5.5 kW with a speed of up to 24000 RPM. Vacuum table is equipped with 2 vacuum pumps and 9 clamping positions and automatic dusting function.

Linear guidance along all axes is done with HGR25 guides. Hybrid stepper motors with a torque of 8 Nm to 12 Nm are used to drive all axes. Axial speeds during cutting are up to 20 m/min, and up to 40 m/min during jogging.

An ETH-MCI motion controller with a specially written script for Automatic Tool Change was used to control the CNC machines.
