Retrofit of CNC gas cutting machine 2800 x 6000 mm - SMCU3 and USB-MC

Retrofit of CNC gas cutting machine MESSER Cutting Machine, Cortina M-3600. Work area is 2800 x 6000 mm. In place of existing controll system that was realized with DC servo motors, now step mottors with torque of 12.8 Nm are used.

For control and drive of stepper motors, control unit SMCU3 is used with addition of USB-MC motion controller. The machine is used daily for cutting steel plates and after the retrofit it works in 3 shifts.
